Internal Experts

Ricarda Rohrig

Dr. Ricarda Rohrig studied with a main focus on molecular toxicology at Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf and graduated with a Diploma in Biology. Following her diploma, she participated in a graduate school for toxicologists and completed her postgraduate education with a PhD in 2010. Dr. Rohrig has extensive experience in the field of experimental molecular toxicology. Since spring 2016, she has been employed at CFCS-Consult GmbH, with special focus on REACH registrations and toxicological hazard assessments. In 2022, she became “European Registered Toxicologist” (ERT). Since 2025, she is Co-CEO of CFCS-Consult.

Jutta Fuhlrott

Dr. Jutta Fuhlrott studied biochemistry at Leibniz University Hannover, where she also earned her PhD. She gained extensive toxicological and regulatory experience working in a testing laboratory for medical devices, where she served as head of the cell culture, histology, and small animal laboratory. Since 2012, Dr. Fuhlrott has been a key member of the CFCS team, specializing in toxicology and ecotoxicology. Additionally, she is a qualified safety assessor in the field of cosmetics, having completed the “EU Cosmetic Safety Assessor” course at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2014. In 2019, she became a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT). In April 2025, she took on the role of Co-CEO at CFCS-Consult.

Nico Adler

Nico Adler is part of our CFCS-Team since 2009 and his main responsibilities as Senior Expert are the Exposure and Risk Assessment for Human Health and the Environment. He is also responsible for Consortium Management, LoA contract negotiations and supports companies on all aspects of joint registrations under REACH. Before that, he was especially engaged in over 12 years of international consulting, covering areas such as Freshwater ecology, European Legislation on Water Pollution Control and Management, modelling of environmental provisions for contingent liabilities and contingent assets as well as Industrial Environmental Management and Regulatory Compliance. He graduated with a Diploma in Biology at the “Technische Universität Braunschweig”, Germany and was awarded a Master of Science in Environmental Protection and Management at the University of Edinburgh (UK).

Kerstin Balkenhol

Training as a Chemical Technical Assistant. Professional experience at the University of Marburg (Department of Pharmacy) and the University of Bonn (Department of Medicine). Responsibilities included participation in scientific research projects and conducting student laboratory courses. Additional experience in the meat-processing food industry, focusing on quality assurance and product development. Employed at CFCS Consult GmbH since 2021. Areas of responsibility: Biocides and REACH; supporting scientific staff.

Carolin Ewers

Dr. Carolin Ewers studied at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Massachusetts, USA, and graduated with a Diploma in Biology. Subsequently, she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tübingen with research work in microbiology and structural biology of proteins, conducted at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology (Tübingen) and at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology (Marburg). Since 2014, Dr. Carolin Ewers is a consultant at CFCS-Consult GmbH with a focus on Biocides Regulatory Affairs and Ecotoxicology. She has acquired the expertise according to ChemVerbotsV and ChemBiozidDV; and she successfully completed the part-time postgraduate course in ecotoxicology (GDCh/SETAC GLB).

Deetje Grabsch

Deetje Grabsch completed her degree in Biology with a focus on Sociobiology/Behavioral Biology, Tropical Ecology, and Microbiology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. In 2008, she joined multiple sclerosis research at the Klinikum Rechts der Isar. Within Dr. Martin Weber’s research group, she investigated the fundamentals of multiple sclerosis using a mouse model. Following her work in clinical research, Ms. Grabsch gained approximately 10 years of professional experience in the regulatory field of a testing laboratory. She led the subdepartment of Study Director Assistants within the in vitro Pharmacology/Toxicology department as team leader. In this role, she deepened her expertise in in-vitro and alternative in-vivo studies. Ms. Grabsch has been employed at CFCS Consult GmbH since January 2023. Her main responsibilities include project management and study monitoring.

Christine Rösch

Dr. Christine Rösch studied agricultural science with focus on plant protection at the Technical University Munich-Weihenstephan. Her diploma thesis on fungal endophyte toxins was a collaboration project with AgResearch in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Afterwards she earned her PhD grade at the GSF Centre for Food and Live Sciences (now Helmholtz Centre Munich), where she specialized on xenobiotic metabolism and analytical chemistry. At the IUF Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine in Düsseldorf she then gained several years of experience in experimental toxicology. Her main task was the Cosmetics Europe-funded „Skin Metabolism Project“, where she examined in vitro alternatives to animal skin testing. At the EUROTOX congress in 2009, she received a „Young Scientist Award“. She joined CFCS-Consult GmbH in June 2016 with a focus on REACH registration and toxicological hazard assessment.

Christoph Kopke

Christoph Kopke is a trained office clerk and operates in the secretariat of CFCS-Consult since November 2009. In his role as executive assistant, he is mainly responsible for the general commercial and administrative tasks and activities within the company. He is supporting the CEOs and the project managers in the areas of project management, financial management and customer communication as well as in planning, coordination and preparation of conference calls, meetings and training sessions. In addition, Mr Kopke is also responsible for the company’s website.

External Experts

Felix Endres

Dr. Felix Endres is one of the founders and has been managing director of CFCS-Consult GmbH until early 2025. He now works as a freelance associate for CFCS. His areas of expertise include ecotoxicology, fate, and physicochemical properties of substances. Dr. Felix Endres completed his chemistry studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and subsequently earned his doctorate under Ernst Bayer on a topic in organic chemistry. Parallel to his studies and doctoral work, Dr. Endres supervised the advanced organic chemistry laboratory course for diploma chemists in Tübingen. From 1991, he worked in the field of chemical risk assessment as an employee of the BUA (Advisory Committee on Existing Chemicals). The main focus areas of this work were the environmental fate of chemicals, physicochemical properties, and ecotoxicology. Chemical reports prepared within the framework of the BUA were developed and published in collaboration with industry, national and international authorities and committees (UBA, BfR, BAuA, US-EPA, OECD). The BUA project ended after 25 years of activity with the introduction of the European chemical regulation for Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) in 2007.
Dr. Endres has experience with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation), the Dangerous Substances Directive 67/548/EEC, the Preparations Directive 1999/45/EC, and the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) No 528/2012).

Stefanie Göller-Lucas

Stefanie Göller-Lucas is Chemical Engineer with specialization in biochemistry and biotechnology, has been supporting CFCS as a freelance expert since 2008. Following initial experience in experimental toxicology (specifically genotoxicity studies), she gained several years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working as a project manager in the field of clinical research. Since the first REACH registration phase, she has been responsible for preparing dossiers in the form of IUCLID entries and chemical safety reports. She supports the team by providing expertise in project coordination and addressing the wide array of tasks and regulatory questions associated with chemical registration under the REACH Regulation.
